Looking Closer
Intrigued as I am in local history and particularly the Tudor times, I have read widely about the monarchs of this period. Jane Dudley, formerly Lady Jane Grey, was born in Bradgate House a short distance from my home. She was a very brave young lady, only 16 years old when she was executed, and whilst imprisoned in the Tower of London she wrote a letter to her sister. With the permission of the British Library who now has this letter I have stitched her tender loving words into a vintage French linen sheet.
