Cows in the Meadow 2020 102cm x 92cm Continuous lockdown drains the spirits even in springtime. People are robbed of predictability for their future lives. Yet time is now abundant and as a textile artist I felt the yearn to work on fabric in response to the cruelty of the indiscriminate coronavirus being felt across the world. Walks through local meadows where the cows fed on buttercups successfully lifted my spirits. Wholecloth using Radiance silk cotton blend. Dual layer of 100% wool and 100% cotton wadding. Glide trilobal polyester thread. Intense pencils. Ice-dyed wholecloth. Screen printed. Freehand using a hand-guided longarm quilting machine. |
