Looking Closer
The joy of a quilt artist is exploring the creation of various textiles, using techniques old and new. A piece of vintage linen, salvaged from a French vide-grenier, was used to play with breakdown screen printing and the result was so successful. Bindweed (aka Convolvulus) is found in abundance on the trails I regularly walk in Andalucia, southern Spain, as well as many other areas. They can be invasive as a weeds but I find the delicate trumpet-like flower heads are so beautiful.
